We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. In a nursing home setting, housekeeping is more than just cleaning—it is a vital part of resident care and infection control. Your work will directly impact the health, dignity, and well-being of the seniors who call our facility home.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and offices daily.
Dust, mop, vacuum, and sweep floors using approved healthcare-grade disinfectants.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in all areas.
Empty trash and biohazard waste containers safely according to facility protocols.
Deep clean rooms after resident discharges to prepare for new admissions.
Interact warmly with residents while respecting their privacy, rights, and personal space.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or broken equipment to management immediately.
Follow infection control guidelines and OSHA safety standards strictly.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred; healthcare or hospitality experience is a plus.
Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.
Communication: Ability to read, write, and follow instructions and speak with residents.
Attributes: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.
