Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. In a nursing home setting, housekeeping is more than just cleaning—it is a vital part of resident care and infection control. Your work will directly impact the health, dignity, and well-being of the seniors who call our facility home.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and offices daily.
- Dust, mop, vacuum, and sweep floors using approved healthcare-grade disinfectants.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in all areas.
- Empty trash and biohazard waste containers safely according to facility protocols.
- Deep clean rooms after resident discharges to prepare for new admissions.
- Interact warmly with residents while respecting their privacy, rights, and personal space.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or broken equipment to management immediately.
- Follow infection control guidelines and OSHA safety standards strictly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred; healthcare or hospitality experience is a plus.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and follow instructions and speak with residents.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.
